A message from founder, Ted Ratcliffe
I believe the traditional business model is broken. For too long, the
standard has been to charge customers the most while paying employees the least. I started At Home Services to prove there’s a better way to do business – one that values people over pure profit.
I am deeply committed to creating a democratic work environment where every member has a voice and a stake in our collective success. We are
currently exploring a unique hybrid co-operative model designed to keep wealth within the communities we serve. My goal is to transform ‘service work’ into a respected, high-paying career that empowers our neighbors rather than just employing them.
My approach to business is rooted in a lifelong passion for building grassroots traditions. I’ve always believed that when you bring people together around a shared interest – whether it’s a community-led festival or a local seed exchange – you build something far more resilient than a typical company.
